The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Midwife to fill the role of Professional Midwifery Advocate.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working closely with midwives to improve system performance and enhance the quality of care for women.

As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for deploying the A-EQUIP model of advocating and educating for quality improvement. This will involve supporting midwives through regular sessions of restorative clinical supervision (RCS) and promoting a culture of openness, reflection, and professional resilience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting Midwives: Provide guidance and advice to midwives on their professional development needs and have a positive impact on clinical outcomes for women, babies, and midwives.
  • Deploying the A-EQUIP Model: Collaborate with local teams to implement the A-EQUIP approach, which provides a continuous improvement process that builds upon personal and professional resilience of midwives.
  • Restorative Clinical Supervision: Embed RCS sessions into the daily routine of midwives, fostering a culture of openness, reflection, and professional resilience.
