Water Quality Analyst

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Water Quality Analyst to join our dedicated Overflows Team in Asset Management at South West Water Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our strategy to reduce storm overflow discharges and improve water quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in the preparation and delivery of our regulatory obligations as defined in the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) under the Environment Act.
- Conduct investigations into storm overflow discharges, including assessments of water quality and the impact of our assets on bathing and shellfish waters.
- Work with our Asset Management team and external partners to complete the requirements of the investigations and implement recommendations.
- Review and summarise the outcome of surveys and monitoring data, and assess the performance of our assets in the context of water quality.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and develop cost estimates for implementing interventions to enhance water quality.
- Produce high-quality investigation reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with our Communications team to manage public perceptions of storm overflows and their impact on water quality.
Requirements:
- Masters, Bachelors degree or HNC in a relevant discipline, such as environmental science or water quality management.
- Proven ability to produce technical reports, summarise large quantities of data, and analyse data to establish conclusions.
- Relevant experience in water quality sampling and analysis, as well as experience working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
