Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Water Quality Technician to join our team. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary range of £26,408 - £35,878 per annum along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
As a Water Quality Technician, you will support the Waste Water Services Treatment and Sewage Pumping Stations Managers, as well as the broader WWS Management team. Your role will involve:
  • Conducting pollution investigations and engaging in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Assisting the team in addressing compliance issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Managing incidents and coordinating recovery efforts.
  • Providing technical assistance to the Waste Water Operational Teams to enhance compliance, efficiency, and asset reliability.
  • Developing detailed action plans and contingency strategies.
  • Investigating health and safety incidents and resolving hazards.
  • Optimizing asset performance, including contributions to the Smart Alarm project.
  • Responding to technical inquiries and customer communications, providing necessary technical information.
  • Supporting management in ensuring governance processes are adhered to, including site inspections and health and safety checks.
  • Field support for energy and water efficiency programs.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, including Maths, English, and a Science subject; or
  • ONC / City and Guilds in a relevant subject or NVQ Waste Water Process or Sewerage Control Level 2 standard of competence or HNC / Water Diploma.
  • A proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • A technical mindset with the ability to analyze and manage diverse data sources for informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office and corporate applications.
  • Experience in fault reporting and notification.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes within the WWS team and support broader team activities.
  • A valid UK Driver's License.
  • The capability to undertake out-of-hours standby duties related to business needs.
