About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Technician to join our team at South West Water. As an AWS Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable supply of water to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplying alternative water supplies via methods such as pump tankers, bowsers, and overland hoses
  • Carrying out routine vehicle checks and maintaining, repairing, and cleansing of supply interruption mitigation equipment
  • Ensuring company supply interruption (SI) ODI is at the forefront of all operations
  • Providing AWS and SI mitigation packages to AWS and network technicians
  • Working in accordance with all associated QMS procedures and ensuring an awareness level of them is maintained through self-learning/understanding
  • Being aware of and compliant with all requirements to protect the environment as a consequence of network operational duties
  • Supporting and undertaking any such other activities needed within the water distribution network to ensure its operation
Requirements
  • Full UK B driving license - Essential
  • Vehicle driving license B+E, C, C+E - Desirable
  • Good experience in mechanical duties, first-line maintenance of equipment, pumps, valves
  • Good general standard of education with a minimum of a GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English, Maths, and a Science
  • Ability to demonstrate the desire to learn and develop
  • Proven experience of working safely and hygienically within a water supply environment or similar
