About This Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Andover. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and a proven ability to make a positive impact on their learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in a one-to-one or small group setting, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement IEPs, adapting teaching materials to ensure equal access to the curriculum.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
  • Contribute to the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in Education, Teaching Assistance, or a related field is essential.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, preferably within a school setting, is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of various special educational needs and the ability to tailor support accordingly is crucial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with students, teachers, and parents are necessary.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable individuals, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEN, are ideal candidates.
