About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our team at Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Limited. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex claims, providing technical support and guidance to less experienced handlers, and handling technical referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage a caseload of technically complex claims, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to reinsurers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, promoting best practice and knowledge sharing.
  • Handle technical referrals, utilizing external suppliers when necessary to achieve the best outcome for the business.
  • Participate in training and auditing of less experienced handlers, maintaining and improving technical knowledge through training and seminars.
  • Assist in setting technical philosophy and business best practice, participating in projects as required.
Requirements
  • Persuasive and confident communicator with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to use initiative to explore options and achieve the best outcome for the business.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with superior time management skills, capable of organizing and prioritizing work effectively.
  • Excellent team player with a solid understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
  • Always acts as a role model, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
