Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join our team at Hft.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective policy and public affairs strategies to promote Hft's interests and values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, politicians, and other influencers.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions and advocacy efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication channels with internal stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and service users.
  • Represent Hft at external events and meetings, promoting the organization's mission and values.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in policy and public affairs, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong knowledge of UK government policy and politics, with a particular focus on the social care sector.
