Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Public Affairs Advisor to join our team at Hireful. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping our policy and public affairs strategy, building strong relationships with politicians and policymakers, and informing our campaign and communications activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor parliamentary activity, consultations, and policy developments to inform our campaign and communications activity.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including politicians, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective public affairs and campaign tactics to raise awareness of critical issues and the needs of people with learning disabilities.
  • Provide strategic advice on key reputational and media issues, and influence campaigns to help build our voice of authority.
  • Work closely with our Deputy Director of Communications and Fundraising to establish and strengthen our relationships with politicians and policymakers.

Requirements:

  • Confidence in building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Core understanding of UK political systems and processes.
  • Ability to identify the news angle in any story and provide strategic advice on key reputational and media issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
