Job Summary

As a skilled and experienced driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Rail Grinders, Rail Milling Machines, and other OTM plant. You will work closely with the Rail Grinding Management and Rail Planning Team to ensure the successful delivery of programmed work and transit shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and route conduct machines safely and effectively
  • Report any machine defects to Grinding Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor
  • Work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures
  • Assist as required
  • Maintain quality systems and stabling database by monitoring, reviewing, and making recommendations for updating
  • Undertake route learning and refreshing as required
  • Drive all other OTM's such as Rail Milling Machine and Tampers
  • Keep all routes current via the Colas Rail route app

SHEQ Responsibilities
  • Work to applicable Safety Plans and Method Statements
  • Comply with Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Submit Close Calls and safety conversations as per procedure

Competencies Required
  • Ability to drive all types of Rail Grinders and other OTM plant
  • Driving Licence
