Job Title: Consultant General Anaesthetist/Orthopaedic Hub

We are seeking an experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery.

About the Role

The Consultant General Anaesthetist will be part of a dynamic team providing anaesthetic services to a wide range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, and emergency surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with other consultants, anaesthetic staff, and surgical teams to provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery
  • Work collaboratively with other consultants, anaesthetic staff, and surgical teams to provide excellent patient care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of anaesthetic services and protocols
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior anaesthetists and medical students
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist who possesses the following qualities:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification
  • MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
  • Full GMC registration
  • Experience in providing anaesthetic services to general and orthopaedic surgery
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other consultants and anaesthetic staff
