We are seeking an experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery.

About the Role

The Consultant General Anaesthetist will be part of a dynamic team providing anaesthetic services to patients across various specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, and emergency surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with other consultants, anaesthetic staff, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery
  • Work collaboratively with other consultants, anaesthetic staff, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical governance initiatives within the department
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior doctors and medical students
  • Engage in research and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and outcomes
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist who possesses the following qualities:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification
  • MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
  • Full GMC registration
  • Experience in providing anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other consultants, anaesthetic staff, and surgical teams
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
