We are seeking an experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing general and orthopaedic surgery.
Main Responsibilities:- Share anaesthetic workload with consultant colleagues, including participation in general anaesthetic on-call and maternity cover on-call.
- Provide a flexible anaesthetic service to various surgical specialties, including general surgery, colorectal surgery, orthopaedics, trauma, gynaecology, urology, ENT, and emergency surgery.
- Participate in the Royal College of Anaesthetists Continuing Professional Development programme and contribute to the department's Quality Improvement programmes.
- Support the development of services and show leadership qualities to improve patient care.
- FRCA or equivalent qualification.
- MBBS or Basic Medical Degree.
- Full GMC registration and on the UK Specialist Register or within 6 months of completion of UK Anaesthetic training.
- Experience in providing consultant cover to emergency anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia, including on-call.
- Knowledge of the latest RCoA Training Curriculum and ability to train and teach anaesthetic trainees.
