About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a flexible anaesthetic service to a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedic, trauma, gynaecology, urology, ENT, and emergency surgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant cover to emergency anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia, including on-call duties
  • Develop and implement a system of mutual out-of-hours cover with other consultants
  • Participate in regular clinical meetings and contribute to the development of the department's quality improvement programmes
  • Support the training and education of anaesthetic trainees and medical students
  • Contribute to the development of the department's research and audit projects
