Radar Systems Engineer Opportunity

Matchtech is seeking a highly skilled Radar Systems Engineer to join their pioneering cross-sector technology company. As a key member of the dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative radar systems, driving new product advancements, and maximising performance and characteristics of radar technologies.

  1. Collaborate with the Senior Engineering team to conceptualise and develop new radar products.
  2. Specify hardware architecture, RF performance characteristics, waveform design, and DSP algorithms.
  3. Owning and extending existing radar models to incorporate new features and capabilities.
  4. Conduct radar trials analysis and prepare antenna calibration data.
  5. Prototype and validate algorithms before implementation.
  6. Analyse trials data to verify and characterise the performance of existing and prototype radars.
  7. Participate in field trials in the UK and occasionally overseas.
  8. Contribute to technical leadership and team communications.
Requirements:
  1. Mathematics, engineering, or physics degree.
  2. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  3. Experience in radar system design or satellite communication system design.
  4. Understanding of the radar equation and its influence on radar architecture, waveform design, and signal processing methods.
  5. Knowledge of multi-function radar design and/or phased-array antenna design.
  6. Understanding of real-world radio effects such as multipath, weather, and clutter.
  7. Proficiency in Matlab, Mathcad, or similar software.
Desirable Requirements:
  1. Familiarity with microwave waveguide structures and electromagnetic (EM) simulation.
  2. Experience with RF Pro or Keysight SystemVue.
  3. Involvement in patent preparation.
  4. Active involvement in the radar industry through seminars or generating papers.
