About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Category Manager to join our General Merchandise Buying Team at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall. This role will be responsible for purchasing and supplying all products within the seasonal category.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years' experience in buying and previous experience of leading, coaching, and developing a team. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as well as good numeracy and Excel skills.

The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers to ensure we can offer customers amazing products at an amazing value. They will also negotiate costs and delivery timescales in line with company budget and KPIs.

This role is hybrid working - 3 days in the office per week. We offer a competitive salary, potential to earn bonus, company car or car allowance, and a range of other benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and supply of all products within the category from conception to the bottom line
  • Ensuring products are in line with current and future trends
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiating costs and delivery timescales
  • Visiting factories to develop ranges and negotiate costs
  • Liaising with Merchandisers on the sourcing of product
