About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our General Merchandise Buying Team at Poundland & Dealz. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for purchasing and supplying all products within the seasonal category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and supply of all products within the category from conception to the bottom line
  • Ensuring products are in line with current and future trends
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers to ensure we can offer customers amazing products at an amazing value
  • Negotiating costs and delivery timescales in line with company budget and KPI's
  • Visiting factories to develop ranges, negotiate the cost of goods, and exploring new markets in developing countries/economies
  • Liaising with Merchandisers on the sourcing of product that meets promotional and seasonal activity
Requirements
  • At least five years' experience in buying
  • Previous experience of leading, coaching, and developing a team
  • Previous experience and willingness to travel overseas
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good numeracy and Excel skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload
