About the Opportunity

Poundland & Dealz is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our Buying Team at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing and supplying all products within the Grocery category, ensuring they meet current and future trends.

As a key member of our team, you will cultivate and nurture relationships with suppliers to offer customers amazing products at unbeatable prices. You will negotiate costs and delivery timescales in line with company budget and KPIs, visit factories to develop ranges, and explore new markets in developing countries/economies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and supply of all products within the category from conception to the bottom line
  • Ensuring products are in line with current and future trends
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiating costs and delivery timescales
  • Visiting factories to develop ranges and explore new markets
Requirements
  • At least five years' experience in buying
  • Previous experience of leading, coaching, and developing a team
  • Previous experience and willingness to travel overseas
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good numeracy and Excel skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload
