About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our FMCG Buying Team at Poundland & Dealz. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for purchasing and supplying products within the seasonal category, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and value.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in buying, with a minimum of five years' experience in leading, coaching, and developing a team. Previous experience of traveling overseas and negotiating costs and delivery timescales is also essential.

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Purchasing and supply of all products within the category from conception to the bottom line
  • Ensuring products are in line with current and future trends
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers to ensure we can offer customers amazing products at an amazing value
  • Negotiating costs and delivery timescales in line with company budget and KPIs
  • Visiting factories to develop ranges, negotiate the cost of goods, and exploring new markets in developing countries/economies
  • Liaising with Merchandisers on the sourcing of product that meets promotional and seasonal activity
