Senior Student Retention Officer

Role Purpose:

The Senior Student Retention Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the success of students at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. This involves working closely with the Head of Student Retention, Retention Managers, Student Success Tutors, and academic staff to re-engage students in their studies and support their progress.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work with allocated learners as a key point of contact for day-to-day activities.
  • Monitor the onboarding and training of 8 ROs and ensure that activities towards retention, achievement, and progression are closely monitored.
  • Improve campus attendance and work closely with Retention Managers to ensure tasks are completed.
  • Coordinate and monitor SST performance towards attendance, engagement, and WD.
  • Ensure that SSTs are making required calls and maintaining engagement above 95%.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent with knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
  • Previous experience working with students in higher education, specifically with mature students.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt messages for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, work collaboratively, and build positive relationships with students.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
