About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to older adults who require specialist outpatient services.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care, assessments, and treatment plans to optimize the quality of life for our service users. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding the team to ensure seamless pathways between primary care and secondary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team
  • Conduct assessments, make formulations, and manage treatment plans for patients under your caseload
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, primary care staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely access to services
  • Develop and implement service development initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of CCST/CCT or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Section Approval and demonstrated ability to gain approval
  • Good standing with the GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice
