About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to older adults who require specialist outpatient services.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care, assessments, and treatment plans to optimize the quality of life for service users. Your leadership skills will be essential in managing the team and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team
  • Deliver high-quality care to older adults with complex mental health needs
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Manage and allocate caseloads to ensure equitable distribution of referrals
  • Provide expert advice and interventions to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in service development and improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of CCST/CCT or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Section Approval and demonstrated ability to gain approval
  • Good standing with the GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to use own car for work-related travel
