We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of School Facilities Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual with a strong background in maintenance, health and safety, and facilities management within a school or similar environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are maintained to a high standard, carrying out routine and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as overseeing the general upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining health and safety standards, including carrying out regular risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting);
- Liaising with contractors for more complex repairs and maintenance; and
- Maintaining records related to building maintenance and health and safety inspections.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a school or similar environment, and possess excellent DIY/maintenance skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry).
A flexible approach to work, including early starts and the ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours, is also essential.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
