Job Summary

Interior Health is seeking a Casual Nursing Unit Assistant to work in a dynamic environment at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, B.C. This role involves performing a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient/resident care area.

Key Responsibilities

* Prioritize, process, coordinate and transcribe physicians' orders;
* Act as a communication link for the Unit;
* Schedule, book and coordinate patient/resident appointments;
* Assemble and maintain patient/resident charts, input patient/resident data and transcribe information into relevant systems;
* Perform clerical duties such as keyboarding, data entry, filing, compiling, preparing and maintaining statistics, producing reports, delivering and picking up items, maintaining unit supply levels and meeting minutes;
* Maintain timekeeping records for regular and relief staff and submit to payroll systems;
* Observe patient/resident call signals and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

* Completion of Grade 12;
* A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within past 48 months from a recognized institution;
* A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate;
* Availability to start in a new position.
