The Role

  • As the Category Director, you will join a new Group Procurement function on a transformation journey, playing a key role in delivering cost savings, maximum value, and quality service across the organisation.
  • You will assist the Group Procurement Director in creating the SRM framework and playbook, instrumental in developing the Landsec SRM Centre of Excellence.
  • You will lead the IT and marketing category in driving cost, quality, supply, and sustainability improvements through strategic sourcing activities, including supplier relationship management, vendor consolidation, and purchase compliance.

The Team

You will be a key player in the Team, supporting the Group Procurement Director in delivering strategic objectives to the business.

You will be responsible for building and delighting your own stakeholder community, professionalising your category of spend, and our dealings with the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Be the primary point of contact within the Group Procurement Team for the IT and marketing and spend category.
  1. Lead the sustainability work for the procurement team and be the key interface with the sustainability team.
  1. Continuing to optimise the value of the Supply Chain Sustainability school and lead on our Supply Chain Diversity work.
  1. Be a trusted advisor to the business on all matters related to this category of spend.
  1. Support strategic change programmes across the business.
  1. Upskill the Procurement team and the wider business on Category Management.
  1. Be part of developing, implementing, advocating, and embedding the procurement strategy for the Group.
  1. Drive continuous improvement, best value, and quality partnerships with suppliers, contributing to spend targets and KPIs.
  1. Build the long-term category strategy for IT and marketing.
  1. Build and maintain a portfolio of market/supplier contacts for IT and marketing for strategic procurement exercises.
  1. Assist the Group Procurement Director in creating the SRM framework and playbook in order to create the Landsec SRM Centre of Excellence.
  1. Manage a small team of category managers and commercial analysts.
  1. Work collaboratively with Enabling functions and other business areas across the group.

Requirements

  • Extensive procurement experience, including at least three years of building and managing teams.
  • Experienced at working at pace with significant procurement exposure.
  • Proven negotiation ability and the ability to lean on this both externally and internally to find creative solutions to driving value while building quality partnerships.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extremely strong relationship building both with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • MCIPS qualification.
  • Ability to demonstrate successful results in managing IT and marketing procurement activity, including sourcing, supplier management, and building value-driving category plans.
