Exciting Opportunity for Research Delivery Manager

We are seeking an experienced registered health professional to join the Research and Innovation Directorate at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will have an extensive background in research delivery and will be responsible for growing and managing our research portfolio.

The Research Delivery Manager will play a key role in the development, management, and implementation of our Research Delivery strategic objectives.

The Trust is looking for a dynamic and compassionate leader with experience of managing research delivery across multiple NHS specialties.

Main Duties of the Job

The Research Delivery Manager will link with regional and national partners to take forward UHNM Research Delivery. The post holder will support UHNM colleagues to successfully manage their research delivery portfolio, connecting through strategic partnerships, locally and nationally.

The Research Delivery Manager will provide leadership and direction to the research delivery team, whose role is to support and deliver UHNM's portfolio of research activity. The post holder will oversee the management of the research delivery team by ensuring a flexible and efficient approach to delivering research across all areas.

Person Specification
  • Current Clinical registration
  • Accredited GCP Certificate
  • Health related degree
  • Evidence of professional/academic development of Master's Level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of professional development/management or leadership qualification or extensive experience
  • Educated to postgraduate level in research methods or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive and demonstrable clinical experience in a research setting
  • A very good understanding of the national research agenda and NIHR strategic objectives
  • Extensive experience of leadership & management of research teams within the NHS
  • Understanding of the Clinical Research Network /Regional Research Delivery Network structures and NHS structures.
  • Budget management and the ability to forecast financial sustainability inline with activity and growth.
