The successful candidate will be responsible for training and mentoring staff, developing and mapping new logistical processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Central Logistics Unit.
Main Responsibilities- Supervise the operations of the Central Logistics Unit, overseeing the day-to-day running of the unit, ensuring adequate stocks of medical consumables and stationary supplies are held at predetermined levels, and organizing delivery schedules.
- Liaise with other directorates within the Trust to ensure relevant supplies are held and delivery schedules fulfilled, and to ensure the department meets the needs of the service.
- Ensure that all station orders are fulfilled and received as requested or determined, and that any discrepancies are immediately brought to the attention of the Logistics & Distribution Manager.
- Comply with and ensure all departmental staff comply with relevant Trust policies.
- Ensure all requisitions are actioned within one day of receipt.
- Raise purchase orders with nominated companies within contractual arrangements.
- Advise the Logistics & Distribution Manager on proposed departmental budget spend as required, ensuring adherence to standing Trust financial policies.
- Ensure that goods received at the Central Logistics Unit are stored as per manufacturer's recommendations and in accordance with Trust Health and Safety procedures.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Ensure that the Trust's policies in relation to Equality and Diversity are central to the working ethos of all staff.
- Adhere to all Trust and regulatory body operational procedures, protocols, and guidelines at all times.
- Ensure that staff are able to work in a safe and conducive working environment and that responsibilities regarding Health and Safety and staff welfare legislation and best practice are fulfilled throughout the department.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in various stores positions and logistics centers in a supervisory capacity, with a strong understanding of stock control systems and IT infrastructure. They will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a B Category driving license.
Desirable CriteriaDesirable criteria include qualified use of manual handling equipment, knowledge of the NHS supply chain, and experience in driving commercial-sized vehicles.
