Claims Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Claims Recovery Negotiator to join our dynamic Claims Recoveries team at Hastings Direct. As a Claims Recovery Negotiator, you will play a crucial role in managing a portfolio of non-fault claims after a road traffic accident, focusing on recovering our costs from the responsible party, including third-party insurers, policyholders, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of non-fault claims, ensuring timely and effective recovery of costs from responsible parties.
- Communicate with policyholders and stakeholders via telephone, written correspondence, and webchat to keep them updated on claim developments and progress towards resolution.
- Expertly handle challenging conversations and complaints, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues efficiently.
- Validate claims and ensure policy operations are up-to-date, making realistic inputting and updating of claims reserves on our systems.
- Maintain a proactive approach to claims handling, utilizing our diary system to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Investigate liability where required, making decisions to admit or dispute claims, and working towards individual and business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Process incoming payments and refer suspected fraud to our Specialist Unit.
- Recovery/claims experience is highly beneficial, but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training.
- A background in telephony-based work with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with data inputting skills and good overall IT knowledge, especially with Excel, Word, and Access.
- Proven track record of problem-solving and delivering results, with a proactive and organized approach to work.
