About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Public Health Advocate, specializing in gambling harm prevention. This role involves working with our client based in Sunderland to address gambling-related harm in the North East region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging key stakeholders, publicizing the service, and developing a network of community champions to address gambling-related harm. They will also be required to deliver training packages to educate communities on identifying harm and signposting to support services, and promote community activities and arrange networking events to raise awareness about gambling-related harm.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in healthcare, social work, or a related field
  • Experience in providing support and interventions, particularly in relation to gambling-related issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with communities and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures

Salary: £27,864 per annum (based on 35 hours per week) + opportunities for professional development and training, supportive working environment, and participation in a vital service that makes a real difference in the community
