Job Description

This is a full-time, open-ended position as a Clinical Assessment Operations Coordinator within the Undergraduate Medical School at the University of Glasgow.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Assessment Team, ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and written examinations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Deputy Manager and Assessment Administrators to compile assessment materials for exams;
  • Facilitating academic colleagues in OSCE station development;
  • Assisting with examiner recruitment and allocation;
  • Liaising with Registry for invigilator recruitment;
  • Compiling and distributing examiner and student feedback;
  • Providing training and support for examiners;
  • Coordinating examination setup and administration on and off campus;
  • Ensuring accurate data capture and production of examination papers and results using IT systems;
  • Maintaining adjustments for students with reasonable requirements across all exams;
  • Working closely with the Simulated Patient Administrative Assistant to arrange simulated patients for exams;
  • Updating student NES ePortfolios for each academic session;
  • Supporting the Assessment Committee as needed;
  • Implementing quality control measures according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A level 5 or 6 qualification (National 5 or 6, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 2 or 3) or equivalent, along with experience in personal development or the ability to demonstrate required competencies;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Tact, diplomacy, and discretion;
  • Ability to work proactively, multi-task, and use initiative;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent IT skills, covering Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills

Prior experience in clerking committees, web editing, or working within the Higher Education sector supporting assessment activities would be advantageous. Familiarity with bespoke IT systems is also desirable.

Salary and Benefits
