The National Oceanography Centre is seeking a skilled Database Modeller to join its Marine Systems Modelling group in Southampton.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing web applications and database configuration for the SOLSTICE project, which aims to promote ocean models for sustainable use of living marine resources in the Western Indian Ocean.

  • You will design and implement efficient database systems using Python and Django.
  • Familiarity with Linux, MySQL, and system administration is essential for this role.
  • Numerical modelling or Earth Science project experience is highly desirable.

This full-time Band 6 position offers a competitive remuneration package, including a RCUK pension scheme, 30 days annual leave, and free car-parking.

The estimated salary for this role is £28,200 per annum, with potential for salary uplift and/or additional allowances.
