Buxton, Derbyshire, United Kingdom Derbyshire County Council Full time

Derbyshire County Council is dedicated to providing high-quality care through its network of children's homes. Our facilities create a nurturing environment where young individuals can feel secure and content.

Guided by principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE), alongside trauma-informed practices and social pedagogy, we strive to enhance the standard of care in our children's homes, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to flourish and grow.

This position offers a unique chance to join a small children's home that is currently being renovated and is set to reopen soon. This specialized service caters to children, aiding their transition to a permanent living situation.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with a supportive management team, benefit from regular supervision, and contribute to the development of the service. You will work in partnership with other services to support children and their families, integrating the therapeutic ethos of Derbyshire Residential Services into daily operations to ensure comprehensive care that addresses physical, emotional, and social development.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a willingness to engage in relationship-focused and psychologically informed practices. A strong understanding of the Children Act, quality care standards, and relevant regulations is essential.

Candidates must hold, be pursuing, or be willing to complete within two years the Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (or an equivalent qualification). Further details regarding the role can be found in the Job and Person profile.
