About the Role

As a highly skilled Sous Chef, you will play a key role in our culinary team at Stowe School, a leading independent school in Buckingham. We are seeking an experienced and creative professional to join our team and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, kitchen assistants, and ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events, themed dinners, and other culinary initiatives, showcasing your creativity and attention to detail.
• Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste, demonstrating your ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, always following health and safety regulations, and promoting a positive working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution, with a strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
• Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Fun and enthusiastic team player with excellent organization skills, a flexible approach to work, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
