Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients annually.
We are seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to join our dynamic Theatres and Critical Care (TCCA) team. As a vital member, you will ensure seamless operation and delivery of exceptional patient care by maintaining optimal stock levels.
This role involves both physical activities and the use of technology, with full training provided. Effective communication with a diverse range of healthcare professionals and suppliers is crucial, as is a commitment to teamwork and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining optimal stock levels to support excellent patient care
- Performing regular stock takes and audits, ordering supplies, and utilizing bar code readers and computer systems for inventory management
- Engaging in physical tasks such as manual handling and transporting items, adhering to safety standards and using proper techniques
- Managing damaged or outdated items and maintaining accurate records in line with hospital policies
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 / equivalent qualification or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge
- Experience in a similar role, planning and organisation of time, managing resources within defined budgets and financial constraints
- Good written and verbal communication skills, standard keyboard skills, manual handling abilities, ability to keep clear, concise and accurate records
- Ability to trouble shoot when issues are encountered, implement new and changes departmental policies and processes, treat all information confidentially, work within a team and take instruction and direction
