Job Description

Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching Trusts, providing a full range of local hospital services across its different sites. We are seeking an experienced Diabetes Dietitian - Patient Support Expert to join our team at the Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital.

The post holder will work within a diabetes multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive clinical support and dietetic advice to patients with diabetes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diabetes specialist dietetics, ideally with knowledge of DAFNE principles and experience managing diabetes technology, including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring.

Main Duties:

  1. To provide comprehensive clinical support and dietetic advice to patients with diabetes.
  2. To work within a diabetes multidisciplinary team, including doctors, specialist nurses, podiatrists, and pharmacists.
  3. To develop and deliver individual diabetes dietetic and education treatment plans for patients.
  4. To provide high-quality specialist clinical advice and educational support to others involved in providing care for people with diabetes in the local community.

Requirements:

  • BSc/Postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Previous dietetic experience within Diabetes services, including management of enteral feeds.
  • Knowledge of dietetics within the NHS.
  • Advanced specialist knowledge demonstrated by evidence of post-registration courses and experiential learning.

Estimated Salary: £55,500 per annum.
