Job Opportunity: Perinatal Mental Health Administrator

NHS Scotland is committed to fostering a culture of equality and diversity within our workforce, eliminating unlawful discrimination, and promoting a truly representative team. We strive to create an environment where each employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.

This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Administrator to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team, working closely with clinical staff and team leaders in the Tayside Specialist Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for administrative duties in the Perinatal Mental Health Team and will also provide cross-cover support for the Maternity & Neonatal Psychology Service and Infant Mental Health Team.

The Perinatal Mental Health Service aims to provide comprehensive support to women and birthing persons experiencing or at risk of severe mental illness during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Our vision is to ensure that women and birthing persons, their partners, and families receive the support they need in their own communities, promoting optimal health and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver the service objectives, including:

  • Implementing the integrated hub and spoke perinatal mental health team model to support women and birthing persons in their communities.
  • Working in partnership with the Maternity and Neonatal Psychology Service and Infant Mental Health Team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Building effective relationships with other services involved in women and birthing persons' care, such as community mental health teams and third sector agencies.
  • Supporting specialist workforce training and development in perinatal and infant mental health.
  • Ensuring the voices of those with lived experience and their families are central to service design, development, and delivery.
  • Capturing and utilizing feedback and data to inform shared learning and service improvement.
  • Ensuring that service provision and standards meet national recommended guidelines.

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, who has experience working in a demanding administrative and secretarial role. Previous experience or knowledge of patient referral and appointment systems is desirable, as is the ability to manage databases using Microsoft packages, including Excel.
