This exciting opportunity is for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our established service, contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality care. As a key member of our integrated team, you will work collaboratively with nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals to enhance and improve our services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload under the supervision of a senior nurse and allied professionals. You will require a strong understanding of mental health conditions affecting older adults and be able to work independently, with a focus on promoting and developing the community psychiatric nurse service in all aspects of mental health care.

This is a 7-day service operating between 9am and 5pm, with the successful applicant expected to work weekends. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with older adults with mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients with mental health conditions affecting older adults
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the community psychiatric nurse service
  • Develop and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory agencies to enhance and improve services
  • Engage with the public to promote and improve mental health care in the community

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions affecting older adults
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with older adults with mental health issues (desirable)
