This exciting opportunity is for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a well-established service that is continually evolving. As a key member of our integrated team, you will work collaboratively with nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals to deliver high-quality care.

As a successful applicant, you will be responsible for managing a caseload under the supervision of a senior nurse and, in some cases, allied professionals. You will require a strong understanding of mental health conditions affecting older adults and be able to construct effective links with statutory and non-statutory agencies, as well as engage with the public to enhance and improve our services.

The post holder will be responsible for promoting and developing the community psychiatric nurse service in all aspects of mental health care in the community. You will hold a dedicated caseload and ideally have previous experience working with older adults with mental health issues. This is a 7-day service operating between 9am and 5pm, and the successful applicant will be expected to work at weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients with mental health conditions affecting older adults
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
  • Construct effective links with statutory and non-statutory agencies
  • Engage with the public to enhance and improve our services
  • Assist in the promotion and development of the community psychiatric nurse service

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions affecting older adults
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at weekends
