SEN Safeguarding and Attendance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Safeguarding and Attendance Specialist to join our team at a specialist school in Basingstoke.
This permanent role, starting in January 2025, involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and attendance of students with complex needs. You will lead and manage safeguarding procedures, oversee student welfare, and develop effective relationships with multi-agency partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to promote high levels of attendance and engagement across the school.
- Provide support and training to staff on safeguarding and welfare matters, maintaining accurate records and adhering to statutory guidelines.
- Collaborate with students, families, and external agencies to address safeguarding and well-being concerns, leveraging your strong communication skills.
- Foster a safe and inclusive school community, contributing to the lives of young people with passion and dedication.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in safeguarding, welfare, or attendance management within an educational setting, preferably in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) context.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures, with relevant qualifications or training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, families, and professionals, with a focus on improving educational outcomes for children with complex needs.
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities effectively, and providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
