Role Overview:

The Safeguarding Welfare & Attendance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and attendance of students with complex needs at a specialist SEN school in Basingstoke.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage safeguarding procedures and practices, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and best practice.
  • Oversee and promote student welfare, working closely with students, families, and external agencies to address safeguarding and well-being concerns.
  • Provide support and training to staff on safeguarding and welfare matters.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), managing safeguarding concerns and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in safeguarding, welfare, or attendance management within an educational setting, ideally in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) context.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working with children with complex needs, with a passion for improving their educational outcomes.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in safeguarding or child protection.
