Job Summary

The successful applicant will support the Head of School of Anaesthesia in the coordination and direction of Specialty training in NHS England across the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure national standards determined by the Royal Colleges of Anaesthetists are adhered to and national and NHSE policies in Higher Specialty Training are implemented.
  • Work closely with the Head of School, Postgraduate Dean, and the Future Workforce Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
  • Develop, plan, and ensure the delivery of the anaesthetic training in the Stoke School of Anaesthesia.
  • Advising on the curriculum and ensuring that this is delivered effectively across the West Midlands.
  • Providing training for clinical and educational supervisors.
  • Supporting trainees in difficulty and their trainers.
  • Chairing ACRP panels.
  • Working with educational leads from local education providers across the School Board.
