Academic Training Programme Director

As a Training Programme Director, you will play a key role in coordinating training across the region. You will ensure that national standards, determined by Royal Colleges, the GMC and NHS-E WT&E, are implemented locally. To be successful in this role, you must be currently working within the East Midlands area at consultant level or equivalent, including SAS doctors in the specialty school area. Experience within the specialty at consultant or SAS doctor level is essential, as is considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
Main Responsibilities- Work with the Head of School to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
- Ensure that training is delivered in line with national standards and guidelines.
- Develop and implement training programmes that meet the needs of learners and the organisation.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a flat rate of £10,000 per PA, per year, (or pro rata as necessary) paid to a Trust for successful candidates appointed to TPD roles.

- Conduct all duties in a manner that safeguards the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues, trainees and staff.
- A continuing quest for personal and professional development.
- An academic interest in training and education across primary and secondary care.
- Current clinical commitment in the School/specialty.
- Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
- Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
- Understanding of developments involving the relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations and regulatory bodies.
- Understanding of the workforce transformation agenda.
- Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
- Currently working at consultant level or equivalent in the specialty school area.
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and be registered with the regulatory body.
