Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Administrator to join our team at Northampton Business Directory. As a key member of our transport function, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to meet customer requirements.
  2. Conduct daily checks to ensure that the transport schedule is adequately resourced.
  3. Brief and debrief drivers on a daily basis.
  4. Track routes and report any exceptions or faults to the transport manager.
  5. Accurately record all data entry, including tachograph and route scheduling documents.
  6. Ensure the timely return and completion of PODs for every trip.
  7. Complete daily reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  8. Conduct yard checks as directed by the transport manager.
  9. Report on driver attendance, absence, and performance.
  10. Respond to client queries and resolve issues promptly.
  11. Proactively solve problems to ensure 100% service delivery and legal compliance.
  12. Handover information to the management team and colleagues on a shift-by-shift basis.

Requirements:

  1. High performer with a strong track record of achieving KPI targets.
  2. Good working knowledge of transport and logistics.
  3. Reliable with high attendance and good timekeeping.
  4. Ability to assist with general duties within the transport function.
  5. Highly flexible and adaptable.
  6. Trustworthy and honest with excellent communication skills.
  7. Works safely and follows Health & Safety and site rules.
  8. Self-motivated and determined to work to a high-quality standard.
  9. Ability to work under own initiative and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
