Senior Operational Project Manager - Logistics

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Operational Project Manager to join our dynamic and collaborative central team in XPO Logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a wide range of projects, including new warehouse and transport operations start-ups, to ensure the smooth delivery of project objectives for the client and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish a solid foundation for projects from onset to deployment, ensuring a clear understanding of scope, deliverables, approach, and critical success factors.
  2. Manage project schedules using tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.
  3. Document all data and analytics throughout the project life cycle.
  4. Manage Risks, Issues, and Project Scope & Deliverables.
  5. Coordinate, motivate, and support Workstream leads and operational resources to achieve project deliverables.

Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Highly experienced within warehouse and supply chain projects.
  2. Ability to manage the whole project lifecycle delivery, from tender through to go-live.
  3. Proven experience of leading and coordinating solution design, build, and commissioning activities of automated warehouse and ecommerce operating solutions.
  4. The ability to engage with various stakeholders, including senior management and executive stakeholders of the client and business.
  5. A Prince2 or similar professional qualification, with degree-level education.

Desirable:

  1. The ability to ensure the smooth delivery of project by managing contractors and 3rd party suppliers.
  2. Transitioning planning experience and supporting the process through the cutover processes involved in moving operations between providers.
  3. Excellent communication skills.
  4. Adaptable, assertive, collaborative, and resilient.
  5. Analytical with high attention to detail.
  6. Structured and methodical.
  7. Ability to build a strong team and enjoy working as part of a team.
