Care Assistant for a Wheelchair User

Job Summary:
UKCIL is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Assistant to support a young gentleman with a progressive muscle wasting condition. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, providing transportation, and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and mobility
- Provide transportation using a wheelchair-accessible van
- Accompany the individual on trips and outings
- Support the individual in maintaining their independence
- Encourage participation in social activities and hobbies
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license
- Flexibility in working hours
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and respect for the individual's privacy
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Similar interests, such as gaming or football
Terms and Conditions:
- Rate of pay: £11.68 per hour
- Hours and times of work: 24 hours per week, to be discussed further at interview
- Annual holiday entitlement: equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks
- Free Care Skills training provided
