Job Title: Advanced Nurse/Mental Health Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 7 Mental Health Practitioners within Leicester city and University PCN and City Central PCN.

About the Role:

The Mental Health Practitioner Service focus is to deliver first access mental health care within the GP practice, this is a new and developing team, working closely with GP's and secondary care services, whilst supporting the implementation of the integrated service design.

This has been a positive and needed service that is bringing much needed mental health expertise and support to communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health Triage assessments, signpost, onward referrals and follow up appointments to provide short term interventions.
  • Work autonomously in GP Practice to provide specialist clinical knowledge and interventions to service users in a primary care setting.
  • Support service users with common mental health problems, working with the practice team to provide evidence-based and innovative interventions.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) who may or may not be qualified to prescribe and or support with medication changes, although we welcome applications for those who would like to work towards this qualification.
  • Proven skills in working with people who have a range of common mental health needs, demonstrating practice that is evidence-based and innovative.
