Special Educational Needs Tutor Role

We are seeking an experienced special educational needs tutor to join our team at Teaching Personnel.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teaching professional to work with children who require extra support, either in their own homes, care homes or local areas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing face-to-face support to children with ASD, SEMH or PMLD at agreed locations with the parents/carers, and will need to demonstrate expertise in adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To plan and deliver tailored resources to meet each child's unique needs, focusing on developing their knowledge in Maths, English and Science.
  • To engage children with tasks and ensure they can access the learning, using SEN experience and skills to raise pupils' confidence and learning.
  • To work with children who have challenging behaviour and monitor progress to ensure desired learning outcomes are achieved, providing feedback where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant, one-to-one tutor or in a similar SEN role.
  • Able to apply skills to raise pupils' confidence and learning.
  • Experience working with children who have challenging behaviour.
  • A current Child Only Enhanced DBS certificate (update service registered).

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 approximately.
