Teaching Personnel: Intervention Tutor Role

We are seeking an experienced intervention tutor to provide one-to-one support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) outside of mainstream schools.

This is a flexible opportunity for a teaching professional looking to work with children who require extra support, either in their own homes, care homes or local areas such as libraries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing face-to-face support to children with ASD, SEMH or PMLD at agreed locations with the parents/carers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To plan and deliver tailored resources to meet each child's unique needs, focusing on developing their knowledge in Maths, English and Science.
  • To engage children with tasks and ensure they can access the learning, using SEN experience and skills to raise pupils' confidence and learning.
  • To work with children who have challenging behaviour and monitor progress to ensure desired learning outcomes are achieved, providing feedback where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant, one-to-one tutor or in a similar SEN role.
  • Able to apply skills to raise pupils' confidence and learning.
  • Experience working with children who have challenging behaviour.
  • A current Child Only Enhanced DBS certificate (update service registered).

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 approximately.
