Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Supporting students with SEMH needs requires a unique blend of compassion, expertise, and creativity. Empowering Learning invites applications from experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our SEMH School in Gainsborough.

This role is central to delivering high-quality SEMH interventions that empower students to access and engage with the curriculum fully.

  • The successful candidate will contribute to implementing work programmes for individuals and groups outside the conventional classroom environment.

Main Duties Include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fostering students' physical, emotional, and educational development in a safe and structured environment.
  • Establishing positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Planning and delivering targeted SEMH interventions and promoting self-esteem and personal achievement.
  • Identifying and setting targets for students with identified SEMH needs, including those receiving external agency support.
  • Participating in meetings to discuss student progress and strategies, ensuring a collaborative approach to student development.
  • Employing observation, assessment, and monitoring strategies to support SEMH students effectively, while maintaining close communication with the Inclusion Department leadership.
Requirements:
  • Degree level qualification in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Possess relevant experience working with children/young people with SEMH needs.
  • DBS clearance required.
  • References covering at least the last 2 years.

£28,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
