We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Clinical Support Worker Team on a 12-month secondment to work alongside nursing and medical staff. The successful applicant will provide clinical support and deliver a timely and quality service to patients.
Main Duties of the Job
- Under the direction of the Clinical Site Co-ordinators, work within and provide clinical support to all areas of the Trust, including undertaking venepuncture and cannulation, ECG recording, catheterisation and ABG (upon completion of training).
- Maintain an accurate record of duties undertaken for audit.
- Participate in the assessment of healthcare needs through the completion and interpretation of assessment tools documentation and delegated clinical tests.
- Assist the RGN in the evaluation of care and completion of patient documents and formatting of relevant clinical data as per Trust guidelines.
- Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care, providing reassurance, any relevant clinical instructions and support to patients and carers/family.
- Work collaboratively with others in the Ward to ensure that patient's needs are met and contribute to effective lines of communication between medical, nursing and administrative staff.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
- Report any concern regarding patient care.
- Communicate effectively with other departments within the Trust as well as outside agencies as appropriate.
