Bonhams & Butterfields Auctioneers Corporation is a global auction house with a rich 18th-century heritage poised for transformative change. Our global operations are based in key locations worldwide, where we sell in over 60 categories, including motor cars, paintings, jewelry, and entertainment memorabilia.

The role will report to the Global Head of Client Development and will involve working closely with the Managing Director of the UK. The primary focus will be on supporting the sourcing of consignments and engaging high-level collectors across the Bonhams UK network.

As a Client Development Manager, UK, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing regular reviews of top private clients across the region and developing an engagement strategy for those target clients
  • Producing and engaging with data analysis to determine client identification and engagement strategies
  • Using Bonhams' databases to identify key objects for consignment getting
  • Ensuring that all key client data for these individuals is correctly reflected and regularly updated in Bonhams' systems
  • Regular engagement with the Global Bonhams Client Development team, including occasional support of international locations' Client Development activities
  • Proactive, regular engagement with market news, new sources, and social media to understand market changes, client status changes, or potential opportunities with clients

You will use Bonhams' client database and data systems, as well as your own networks and client relationships, to research and identify new opportunities. Travel and client visits will be required, and you will need to demonstrate an entrepreneurial and creative approach to generating opportunities.

Key skills and experience required include:

  • Previous experience with database use and management
  • Advanced MS Office experience, particularly with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience generating data analysis reports
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and strong with time management
  • Ability to interface between data systems and specialists and business-getters
